Firearm Training

Accredited training for firearm competence for personal and business purpose’s

We provide firearm training for Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle, Semi-Automatic Carbine and Black Powder in many levels of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

According to the new Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000 you, as the firearm owner, or in possession of a firearm during the course of duty or a new applicant to own a firearm, is under legal obligation to attend a training course with an accredited training service provider in order to apply for your competence and/or firearm license.

How does it work?

Once we completed a pre-assessment of your training needs and agree on the correct unit standard(s), we register you, provide your study material, and start the training process.

You complete an open book test at your own time at home to prepare yourself for the training day.

E

On the training day (booked in advanced) you receive a theoretical lesson and then complete a closed book test at our accredited facility.

After the completion of your closed book exam, your test is marked.

E

Then you have to undergo a practical (shooting) assessment at our SABS accredited shooting range where qualified assessors will assess you.

Once deemed competent, we will issue you a training provider competency certificate with an accredited PFTC certificate for the unit standard you have achieved.

GPS Sales and Training will then upload the assessment results to the PFTC, where they will issue the relevant learner achievement certificate.

You can now apply for a competence certificate or firearm license at your nearest South African police station
